Tools that help
- Deposit, loss and time limits — licensed operators must offer them. Set them before you play.
- Self-exclusion — Ontario, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and other regulated markets run self-exclusion programmes that block you from licensed sites.
- Blocking software — tools such as Gamban or BetBlocker block gambling sites on your devices.
Warning signs
- Chasing losses, or gambling with money meant for bills.
- Hiding gambling from people close to you.
- Feeling anxious or irritable when not gambling.
Legal gambling age is 18, 19 or 21 depending on the province or state, and the type of gambling.
